There's an unwritten rule within the H.U.R.T. that when someone sees you fall on the trail, you owe that person a beer. I think I'm owed about 3 kegs after todays race. Congratulations to all the finishers, here's a link to some pictures I took out on the course. As always, if you want a…

Last minute post, but I'd like any company willing to run by local time (be flexible that is). I'm starting around 7pm ish after all kids, wife and things are done. Leaving from the Maunawili Falls Trail gate, and just running for a while. Can't promise the exact start or end time so call or…
A new race has just been added to the HURT Trail Series schedule! On Saturday, May 26 at 7 AM, will be the "RUN FOR GEORGE". This will be a fundraiser for our good buddy, George Ramos, who is battling cancer. We've scheduled this the day before the "Paddle for George" event so you can…
Greetings friends, As most of you know, our buddy, George Ramos, is battling cancer. In addition to being a HURT runner, George is a legendary long distance paddle boarder, having completed EVERY Molokai crossing since it's inception. George has been out of work for several months now, and as it turns out, cancer ain't cheap! …
So I finally made it out to the SD100 course to scope it out…wow…how beautiful that course is going to be. I had to choose between sight seeing over the vistas or tripping down the trail…safety first of course! Goods and bads to every course. Its not quite the sustained climbing of HURT, but it…
Hi all, I thought of tapping into the collective wisdom of the HURT population to get some suggestions and/or advice on good running hydration backpacks and vests. Also where to get said packs. Thank you all for your opinions, Mark Speck.
Feeling like at the start of the peacock race. I am at the bottom of the hill and am looking up at the mountain. Thinking what a journey it will be. I want to thank you all for the moral support and help. Aloha, George Ramos. For those who haven't heard yet, our good buddy…
Work took me to Queensland last week for a meeting in the rain forest. I was able to squeeze in a couple of trail ultras en route. First was the Maroondah Dam 50k in Victoria near Melbourne on 19th. More challenging than I expected as the scale of the profile plot was in metres, not…
HURT enjoys the privilege of partnerships with State and Federal agencies that hold the responsibility of protecting Oʻahu public lands. Those partnerships are based upon mutual trust and cooperation and shared concerns for the ʻaina. To keep that trust and continue to be provided the opportunity to host trail events, we (HURT) must understand and abide by rules that govern our partner agencies.
HURT does organize and facilitate official trail maintenance only when coordination with our partners has occurred. All trail work is performed under the supervision of a permitted individual with advance permissions. Some trails are off-limits for HURT to perform trail maintenance due to the sensitive flora. No HURT trail maintenance will occur outside of these parameters.
HURT and its partner agencies require that no self-directed trail maintenance occur on publicly-owned trails. Any individuals performing trail work outside of official HURT-organized events, are doing so on their own accord and will be held personally responsible by State and Federal agencies for any violations. Such activity could jeopardize our relationships with partner agencies and lead to inability to use public lands for our events.
