Aloha John

Aloha John

John Salmonson, the principal founder of the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team (HURT), peacefully passed away on February 1, 2023. While HURT mourns the loss of our leader, we will carry on his vision and deliver it with all our passion. With heavy hearts, we will hit the trails, carrying all the wonderful memories of John with us on our journey.

We would like to thank you all for your continued support of the HURT Trail Series and more specifically for participating in the redesigned Tantalizing Tantalus Trail Half Marathon event. We were moved by your enthusiasm and your willingness to participate given the ongoing challenges we all face. After all, the event would not happen without your support. Please read on for the top 3 finishers in both divisions as well as link to the race photos.

Kealia Quad Crusher Mahalo

Kealia Quad Crusher Mahalo

We both want to extend a huge Mahalo to all the runners and volunteers that made the day such an amazing success!  It was a hot day out there, especially going through the exposed rocky section near the start/finish, but there was shade and an occasional breeze along the upper stretch of Kealia trail to help out. For race results and photos, please read on… Oh! and a new course record was set.
