Aloha Athletes ! This Saturday is Swamp Romp. Although I've "never been there…never done that", I've certainly heard many, many tales, and seen lots and lots of photos. I guess the name: "the Worlds biggest wet t-shirt event" is too long. Anyway, it seems there's something for everybody, regardless of whether you are a muddy participant…there…

Aloha Athletes ! Due to unrelentless feminine baggering, it looks like we are back to Peacock this Saturday. Okay, I admit that I love Peacock too, well, other than the two hours of driving that it requires, but it's always a great workout. The plan is to start at the bottom in the parking lot…

Aloha HURT Athletes, I'm working in Honolulu for a couple of weeks, visiting from the UK and staying in Waikiki.I'd like to meet some people with local knowledge to do some off road / trail running in the evenings. I'm used to running on rough terrain at night with a headtorch.Do any of the HURT…
There are some people running the road to the top of the Haleakala mid-March in memory of a race that used to be held before the Feds got all pucker lipped sour and decided they couldn’t stand organized fun. Some other people have been thinking it would be a good idea to do something else…
Aloha Athletes ! With the "Unofficial" Run to the Sun coming up in Mid-March it seems appropriate to start training for that fun event. This Saturday, the plan is to meet at 6:00 am at green Board of Water Supply building, also referred as triangle park, a half mile or so below the Hawaii Nature…
Aloha Athletes, Just in case you have not noticed, the 2011 HURT Trail Series schedule is posted on the top left side of the site. The HURT Trail Series remains one of the best ways to get trail run experience, learn the trails in a fun way, meet other trail runners, and is one of…
HURT enjoys the privilege of partnerships with State and Federal agencies that hold the responsibility of protecting Oʻahu public lands. Those partnerships are based upon mutual trust and cooperation and shared concerns for the ʻaina. To keep that trust and continue to be provided the opportunity to host trail events, we (HURT) must understand and abide by rules that govern our partner agencies.
HURT does organize and facilitate official trail maintenance only when coordination with our partners has occurred. All trail work is performed under the supervision of a permitted individual with advance permissions. Some trails are off-limits for HURT to perform trail maintenance due to the sensitive flora. No HURT trail maintenance will occur outside of these parameters.
HURT and its partner agencies require that no self-directed trail maintenance occur on publicly-owned trails. Any individuals performing trail work outside of official HURT-organized events, are doing so on their own accord and will be held personally responsible by State and Federal agencies for any violations. Such activity could jeopardize our relationships with partner agencies and lead to inability to use public lands for our events.
