    ByDon Fallis April 3, 2007

Aloha Athletes !    It’s time to head back out to "Gordon’s Secret Training ground", Peacock Flats. Weekend Follow-up

    ByHURT Hawaii April 1, 2007

We had several "new" trail runners join us on Saturday. It’s great to see new people coming out and enjoying the trails and wanting to learn about H.U.R.T. The trails were in great shape–relatively dry considering how much rain we’ve had lately. Feel free to join us on any of our Saturday training runs. Rumor…

    ByHURT Guestauthor March 29, 2007

So dude… This is like, not about any of those real fast runners who I only see glimpses of on their way back down the mountain in their cars–those late morningfinishing clowns with broad smiles on their faces and ‘Good Job!’ cheers who interupt my pain orgy by causing day dreams of dragging them out…

    ByDon Fallis March 27, 2007

Aloha ! At Run to the Sun, everyone has their own story and every story is different. In fact, our particular stories often differ drastically from year to year. Sweet Haleakala Summit

    ByHURT Guestauthor March 26, 2007

Wow – what a beautiful day to run up a mountain!  Last year all I got was a T-shirt from Cheryl and had to listen to Matt Stevens talking about the awesome event.  This year, I was back and enjoying everyone along the way. The dark start, smell of manure along the early roads, dancing…

Haleakala Run to the Sun Report: Wendy Minor

    ByHURT Hawaii March 26, 2007

Thirty-five years ago I made my first trip to the summit of Haleakala, by car, with my parents. It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. My Dad said "it is a great day to go to the crater". That became the family slogan whenever anybody in the family was on Maui…

Trail Maintenance Announcement

HURT enjoys the privilege of partnerships with State and Federal agencies that hold the responsibility of protecting Oʻahu public lands. Those partnerships are based upon mutual trust and cooperation and shared concerns for the ʻaina. To keep that trust and continue to be provided the opportunity to host trail events, we (HURT) must understand and abide by rules that govern our partner agencies.

HURT does organize and facilitate official trail maintenance only when coordination with our partners has occurred. All trail work is performed under the supervision of a permitted individual with advance permissions. Some trails are off-limits for HURT to perform trail maintenance due to the sensitive flora. No HURT trail maintenance will occur outside of these parameters.

HURT and its partner agencies require that no self-directed trail maintenance occur on publicly-owned trails. Any individuals performing trail work outside of official HURT-organized events, are doing so on their own accord and will be held personally responsible by State and Federal agencies for any violations. Such activity could jeopardize our relationships with partner agencies and lead to inability to use public lands for our events.
