Vi’s Top of Tantalus – Race Results

Aloha Athletes!

Yesterday brought us an abundance of rain and mud to the second race in the trail series, Vi's Top of Tantalus 7 miler.

A huge mahalo to our race directors Kat and Judy. The beanies for race prizes were a premonition of things come as the temps were utterly freezing yesterday. Most runners stuck around just long enough to consume a host of calories from the food table before setting off in search of warm clothes and dry vehicles. Special thanks to John and PJ for doing an amazing timing job and getting all the runners checked in, marked and ready to go.

Congrats to Jake Rankinen and Candes Gentry for their wins. Best of luck to Jake as he heads off on deployment and we'll be looking forward to your return to the trails in September. Stay safe! Thank you for all that you do.

Most importantly, it's important to remember that none of the races in our trail series could possibly happen without all the work completed behind the scenes by the race volunteers. A warm aloha to Cheryl, Marian & Neal, Mike Cole, Augusto, Barbi, Mike Hee, Feddy H., Fish, Jacque, Rosie and everyone else who took part in organizing and cleaning. None of this can happen without you. Melanie was also gracious once again in providing hats of her own design for the Male and female finishers who came from farthest away. Utah and Australia were the winners.

Don’t forget to sign up for the next race in the series, Run with a View on May 10th. The course is new and improved this year, with an increase in the mileage for 10ish miles of fun and hills!

Special shoutout to one of our ohana, Hannah Roberts who stopped by to say hello. Her time in Hawaii has come to an end and she's off any day to begin her across the US bicycle adventure (with a few hundred milers thrown in). We'll miss you Hannah and can't wait to follow along with your sea stories!

A hui ho,

Rosie
