Happy Holidays and Some Christmas Questions

Egg nog or hot chocolate? Egg nog (light with a little rum or brandy)
Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? A little of both.
Colored lights on tree/house or white? I prefer colored but have some white lights outside.
Do you hang mistletoe? No, don’t know where to buy any.
When do you put your decorations up? This year they were late-outside ones 9:00 at night.
What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Almost everything. Training for HURT, I am always hungry.
Favorite holiday memory as a child? Waking up early to see what Santa brought.
When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? What do you mean, the truth?
Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We’re a blended family and two different traditions, Christmas eve and Christmas morning. So, yes at least one on Christmas eve.
How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Lights, and special ornaments we’ve gotten over the years. Some homemade.
Snow! Love it or dread it? I like the snow for playing in, not for living/driving in everyday–obviously, that’s one reason I live in Hawaii.
Can you ice skate? Yes, I grew up in Michigan. Skated on frozen ponds and lakes building strong ankles for trail running!
Do you remember your favorite gift? Can’t think of any one particular.
What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you? I try to take time out to remember why we celebrate Christmas and to have good quality family time.
What is your favorite holiday dessert? Cookies and homemade pie
What is your favorite holiday tradition? Baking cookies, making chex mix for friends, going to look at decorations around town.
What tops your tree? A star
Which do you prefer, giving or receiving? Giving
What is your favorite Christmas song? O Holy Night by Willie K. (Heard it live by him last Sunday evening.)
Candy canes? Yes
Favorite Christmas movie? White Christmas
What do you leave for Santa? Cookies and milk
