Kukui Nuts and Other Info

Aloha Runners,

FedEx has just delivered the Kukui nuts to Mark Gilligan in
California. At this very moment he is feeding them into his computer and
preparing it for the first ever H.U.R.T. 100 algorithm driven lottery.
We have taken a test drive with the program and all systems are a go. To
think that we are less than a week out from registration and we will
soon have a starting field. My how times have changed. We would like to
thank Mark for the incredible amount of time he has spent on this
project. To any of you who are race directors we strongly encourage you
to seek out Mark at Ultrasignup and have him help you out with your next
race. And yes, this is a plug for a great product, however we have no
financial interest in it. With that said, there are a few things to
know:

The lottery will start promptly at 2 p.m. Hawaii time on 8/7/10.

For Hawaii folks if you plan on attending Selection Saturday at my
place the doors open at 1 p.m. with a potluck event.

For the mainland, international and local folks who cannot make it we
will post a link where you can have access to the updated entrant list
as it happens.

Furthermore, entrants who are selected will be immediately e-mailed
at the address given during registration. Ok, maybe not immediately but
only a 2-3 second time lapse. 

Last but certainly not least, if you haven't already done so we
STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO UPLOAD A PHOTO at Ultrasignup. If you don't
want us to see your face, make it a funny caricature. The photo will
make the selection viewing much more enjoyable.
