Tantalus Triple Trek Thank You

Thank you to everyone who came out and raced the 2026 Tantalus Triple Trek.   It’s no easy task and it’s the first race in the Hurt Trail Series that goes beyond the marathon distance.  An even a bigger thanks to all the volunteers who helped with aid stations, parking, food prep, filling your water packs, course marking and patrol, on course race photography, clean up and all the things it takes to make these events happen ! (It wouldn’t happen without them, so please consider volunteering for more events next year !) 

A special Mahalo to Kawika Samson who drew the artwork for our finisher keepsake posters and awards.  He’s a local endurance athlete and PowWow Mural artist.    We asked him to cook up something that represented these roots and rock trails and the mountain natives and he didn’t miss a beat: there are some snails, an Oahu Amakahi, a happy face spider and a boar chasing some trail runners !   In a world of Ai it’s always better to choose real art.

Also big thanks to Kalapawai market and Cafe for the pastas and athletic brewing at the finish line!  All of their locations have breakfast, lunch and dinner options, but their Waimanalo restaurant has a commercial kitchen for catering and that’s our go to!  It’s always nice to have some real food after such a long hard effort on the trail and they have always been willing to help fill our tables.
