Top of Tantalus Race: Saturday 4/14/07

This Saturday is the first H.U.R.T. Trail Series race, the 7-mile, Top of Tantalus. The race starts at 7:00 a.m. at Puu Ualakaa Park.

If you are interested in running this race, just show up at least 30 minutes prior to the start and pay $10. Since it is the first race of the season, you can also pay for $50 for the entire series.

One important note: The short way to the park remains closed.

The road is closed on the short way to Puu Ualakaa Park.
This is due to the mudslides during the heavy rains of 2006 and
continuing road work.

Please go the other way (the long way) to get to the park.  It’s 7.5
miles vs. 2.5 miles.  Turn at the pumping station (as if you were going to the Nature Center) and go left up and
around Tantalus. This means additional time so plan accordingly so you don’t get there late.
