Mango Madness Results
We had beautiful conditions for today’s Mango Madness Trail Series race. I am not sure where all these people are coming from, however it is fun to see so many new faces at these races. From what I hear, the race was hotly contended near the front. From my position the only thing being hotly contended was trying to stay in front of Lindsey Dewald. I think his dad, Western States Steve, helped by carrying him down center trail because as we got close to the Nature Center, Steve and Lindsey passed me. At this point, I knew I should have paid Gil to keep them behind him. 🙂
Special thanks to Co-Race Directors Pete and Mike for putting on a great race.
Some of us back-of-the-pack runners have come up with a strategy to
slow down these fast front runners. We are not going to mark the trails
in the future and that way, they may be fast but if they don’t know the
route, some of the fast front runners will get lost. Sounds like a great
strategy to me. In fact, we might even try it at the next race.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars, the next race is just three weeks away.
Kaena Point Firecracker 10 mile race is June 30th. More info will be coming, just know it’s an easy 5 miles out and back course.
