Saturday Training 5-12-12: Peacock Flats
Aloha Athletes,
This week we are offering a typically, dry option for those of you still drying your shoes from this past Saturday's Run with a View. If you have never run Peacock, now is the time to do this.
Of course, this is for early birds (and the fact some people think getting up past 4:30 a.m. is sleeping in), you will need to get up early. Your reward: beautiful views, cool breezes and great company.
Two starting time options: 4:30 a.m. sharp from the usual parking area by Long Road with Marian or the more civil (???) 6:00 a.m. start with Cheryl from the parking area behind the Control Tower at Dillingham Airfield.
Make sure you start with at least 60+oz of water, electrolytes, and some nutrition. Also, don't forget your sunscreen.
I guess a good strategy would be to make a day of it on the North Shore, get your run in, jump in the ocean to cool off and then head to Cholo's for salt and fluids replenishment with margarita's or Banzai Sushi in Haleiwa.
Whatever you decide, get out there and run.
Aloha, Bob
