Saturday Training 7-28-12: Maunawili Out & Back Practice
Aloha Athletes,
This week we are fitting in a Maunawili Out & Back practice run. The plan is to start at the Pali Lookout at 6:00 a.m. If you are planning on only running one way, you will need to work out your transportation back to the Lookout. If you are running both out and back–no problem. There is water at the Waimanalo end.
Cheryl and Marian are off to run on the Big Isle with Wendy so Jacque will be leading the group. Please make sure you run with the amount of hydration, nutrition and electrolytes you need for this run. In words, practice race nutrition/hydration.
If you have other plans for the weekend, feel free to share in the comments below.
Just a brief comment on some HURT runners doing races on the mainland. Paul Hopwood of Maui finished in 5th and Doug Long (after pacing/supporting Hannah in Death Valley) finished 32nd at the Tahoe Rim Trail 100. Rod Bien finished 2nd at the Vermont 100 in just under 16 hours. Damn that is fast!!!
It is fun to see everyone registering for the HURT 100 lottery. I just looked and we are up to 163 people.
Get out there and run!
Aloha, Bob
