RUN WITH THE PIGS!!! Maunawili Out & Back – 22 mile & Relay
Saturday, August 13 at 7:00 a.m.
Show-up-and-sign-up begins at 6:15 a.m. at the Nuuanu-Pali Lookout (map). All runners must register, sign a waiver, and pay $10 at the tent located just on the town-side of the gate entering the park from Nuuanu.
NOTE: There are NO bathrooms at the lookout. The nearest public restroom is at a park located on the Kokohead side of the Pali Highway, off of Puiwa Road in Nuuanu. Please plan accordingly!
Parking is limited; please carpool. Runners and supporters cannot park in the paved lot. There will be awesome volunteers to guide you in the morning to designated areas. Cars must be parked along the roadway leading to the lookout.
WARNING – There have been break-ins at the lookout; lock up and DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE!
The course is mostly single-track with rolling hills. It can be very hot and the only aid station is located at the 11-mile turn-around. Carrying water is MANDATORY. You will not be able to start without having some fluids with you. No exceptions! A minimum of 40 ounces of fluids is recommended.
The start of the run is staggered based upon handicaps assigned by age and gender. This will ensure that people finish closer together and are able to share stories and food at the finish.
For those who have pre-ordered Run With the Pigs shirts, bring your $12.00 per shirt and pick them either before or after the run.
