Trail Work, Saturday 2 December.
Mahalo for coming out!
It seems that the HURT 100 course has again lived up to it’s reputation for not making anything easy. Heavy rain and wind forced us to cancel the scheduled work on Aihualama Trail.
Mahalo to those who braved the elements this morning to show up in Manoa ready to work!
To Mae, Elisa, Steph, Trish, Mike M., Bob, Joel, Tom, Fish, David, Richard, Clem, and Harald… Thank you all for making the time and effort to show up! Best of luck to all of you next week at the marathon!
All was not lost… a few of us met for breakfast in Kakaako to talk about HURT and wait out the rain. Fortified with a good meal and lots of caffine, we decided to drive back up Tantalus to attack the canted trail section on Moleka Trail. This is the section just above the large stand of haleconias.
Am happy to report that despite the rain, we were able to flatten out the bad sections and widen up the narrow areas.
Mahalo Steph, Elisa, Trish and Joel for braving the rain and for all your hard work!
I will see you all on the marathon course next weekend!
Mike
