Alex and Rayna from the East Coast

This past Saturday, several of us showed up at 6:00 a.m. to run a H.U.R.T. loop. It was wet and muddy throughout the course (Ugh!), however the sun was out and there was a really good breeze blowing.

We had two guests join us, both of whom had not met each other, even though they are part of the same club from back East.

Rayna Matsuno and Alex Papadopoulos, both of Virginia Happy Trails Running Club were in town. As many of you know, Alex was here for some extended work over the last year and ran in this year’s H.U.R.T. 100 race. He finished the 100K and went on to finish his first 100 mile race at the VHTRC, Massanutten 100. Alex was back for a quick business trip and Rayna was in town visiting family. Rayna is training for her first 100 miler in Vermont in a couple of weeks. Good luck Rayna!
