Registration Slots Available for the Peacock Challenge (PC) Events

Aloha Runners,

The 2024 HURT Trail Series (HTS) will conclude with the PC events on 11/2/2024.

Through nine events the HTS has witnessed phenomenal support from the running community as HURT, Inc. continues to promote running as a healthy lifestyle. The numbers speak volumes to the commitment you have put into the HTS events:

  • Registered Runners / Actual Starters: 1080 / 921 for an 85% start rate
  • Total Number of Finishers / Actual Starters: 904 / 921 for an 98% finish rate
  • Unique Finishers: 454
  • Trailblazers to date (5 finishes to qualify): 48
  • Runners Completing all Nine Events: 4

The PC 55 event is your final chance to improve not only your Trailblazer Standings, but an opportunity to garner 1 of the 3 reserved slots for those who are on the 2025 HURT 100 waitlist . 

For 2024 the PC events include the following with reasons to run:

PC 55:
  • Finish the event and you have your HURT 100 qualifier for the 2026 event.
  • Finish the event and become an ultrarunner.
  • Add to your Trailblazer points for 2024, the PC 55 has the highest degree of difficulty which is factored into the point calculation. For the final standings only 8 of your highest scoring events are tabulated for the top 10 Trailblazer awards.
  • Up to three entrants who finish the PC 55 within the cutoff will have the opportunity to run 2025 HURT 100 if they are currently waitlisted for the 2025 event. The drawing will be done following the close of the PC events. Word of caution; the deadline for completing mandatory 8-hours of trail work is November 15. See the Book of HURT for all details.
  • Approximately 30 slots remain.
PC 27.5:
  • Finish the event and become an ultrarunner.
  • Add to your Trailblazer points for 2024. For the final standings only 8 of your highest scoring events are tabulated for the top 10 Trailblazer awards.
  • Utilize the event for a last hard training run prior to the Honolulu Marathon
  • Approximately 20 slots remain.
PC 13:
  • This newly added distance can serve as a great training run with time on your feet for those starting their taper for the Honolulu Marathon. 
  • Add to your Trailblazer points for 2024. For the final standings only 8 of your highest scoring events are tabulated for the top 10 Trailblazer awards.
  • Approximately 15 slots remain. 

The PC events offer spectacular views on fun to run trails, all with fantastic support from the volunteers. We are looking forward to seeing you at the start line.
