Saturday Training 6-17-06
Aloha Athletes !
With Don away on the mainland and scheduled to return prior to Saturday, we have decided on a trail that is one of his favorites. This trail, officially named "Mauumae Ridge" is also known as the Lanipo Trail. This trail is sometimes described as a rollercoaster. In many places it is a thin ridge, exposed on both sides.
Meeting Time: 5:50 a.m.
Start Time: 6:00 a.m.
Meeting Place: The trailhead is located at the highest point of Maunalani Heights (Maunalani Circle at the top of Sierra Drive). The easement to the ridge splits private property to the right and the Board of Water Supply to the left. From Waialae Ave, just take Sierra Drive to the top and get onto Maunalani Circle. The trailhead is right along Maunalani Circle. Please be quiet as this is a residential neighborhood.
Training: Possible Repeats, each one 7 miles ?? (Don will be anxious and probably rested plus he and Cheryl are using this as training for their Hardrock pacing of Bob Murphy.)
Bring: Enough water, etc. to for at least 7 miles plus electrolytes, trail food, etc., for the duration. It may be overgrown and expect a tough trail.
