Saturday Training: 5/26/07 40 Miles of Fun
Aloha Athletes,
This week we have an exciting route planned. This route allows the long distance folks to put in those 40 miles and everyone else to choose a favorite distance and trail to join for part of the fun. This is a great route to tell your worker friends about back in the office next Monday.
Runner: "So what did you do this weekend?"
Office friend: "Oh not much, Costco and the beach. How about you?"
Runner: "Well on Saturday I ran from Waimanalo to the Nature Center and back to Waimanalo."
Office friend: "Huh??? Hell, I didn’t even drive that far!"
Saturday Training: Waimanalo to the Nature Center and Back To Waimanalo
You can also choose any portion of this.
Meeting Time: 5:20 a.m. at Cheryl’s house (post a Comment if you need directions and she will respond to your e-mail) You can also drive right to the trailhead and meet the group there at 5:50 a.m.
Ride to trailhead via Steve’s Work Van: 5:30 a.m.
Start Time at Waimanalo Trailhead: 5:50 a.m.
Meeting place: Cheryl’s house or Waimanalo Trailhead
Training: Long or short, your choice. 40 miles or any portion of that.
Bring: Everything you need for a long day on the trail, plan on limited water and aid drops. Don’t forget electrolytes as it has been very hot and humid lately.
One shorter option is to meet the runners at the Pali Lookout and run to the Nature Center and back. This is approximately 10 miles. You can plan on the runners arriving up at the Pali Lookout between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Remember, it’s all good training! Get out there and run!
Aloha, Bob
