Five new runners completed their fifth race of the trail series and became 2025 Trailblazers! This brings the total number of 2025 Trailblazers to 38! Way to get after it!
HURT, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization and none of these events would happen without some serious dedication and generosity from folks willing to give their time, sweat equity, and aloha to ensure that runners have the best possible experience!

The effort for Maunawili started with more than 50 people working very hard over four weekends to clear and improve the trail for a safer, easier, and more enjoyable running experience. Many mahalos to our partner, DLNR – Na Ala Hele, for their assistance and hard work in getting the trail in good shape and providing guidance and education to help us protect native species and implement best practices of forest stewardship.

Huge mahalo to all those that gave their Saturday to work at the start/finish, the Waimanalo aid station, and out on the course:
Upcoming Events
Tantalus Triple Trek is the next race on September 13 – the first ultra-distance race of the trail series. We hope to see you on the mountain!
HURT and Hawaii Nature Center are collaborating on the Rainforest Ramble Keiki run scheduled for September 20 on the lower tantalus trails. All funds received will go toward the Hawaii Nature Center to assist them in fostering awareness, appreciation, understanding and stewardship of Hawai‘i’s environment by educating children with an interactive and immersive approach. If you have keiki ages 6-14, please consider signing up. There will be plenty of volunteer opportunities for this fun and worthy event.
