Mango Madness Mahalos 2025
A barefoot finisher, a bride & groom in full attire, a pizza truck, and edible medals. This made for one epic race! I used to think this race was for the fit but now I know it’s for the brave. Thanks to everyone for taking on the unknown, undisclosed course that is Mango Madness! Muddy trails and rain made for a slippery year, but you guys were up for the challenge. The course went up Maunalaha to Moleka to Manoa Cliff and up through Pu’u Ohia to the back of Concrete Hill. From there the runners headed to the bottom of the road and it was 3x Concretes this year, with the first two heading up to the Pillbox. The third time (and the third rubber band) runners were permitted to return the way they came…back to the start/finish.
Of course there were plenty of burpees, push-ups, and jumping jacks on the Pillbox, with trivia questions, too! The first racers to the Tantalus Pillbox always win the coveted “Emperors of the Mountain”. This year’s winners were Tyler Juza and Mary Edgmon. They were great sports because they were made to run the rest of their race holding their inflatable crowns.
They were also this year’s winners! The top 10 are as follows…
