Maunawili Trail Cleanup, 2/17
Aloha to every trail runner, hiker, and volunteer !
Thank you all for your support during the past trail series and HURT 100 event, either as a runner coming out to complete their trail work requirement or just as a volunteer wanting to give back to the beautiful trail systems here on our island.
As we are getting ready for another great season, we need to stay on top of the need to keep ours trails in good, safe, and running condition!
Therefore I have scheduled our first official Trail Work day for this coming Monday Feb 17th (President’s Day). We will try to clear up the Maunawili trail section. This is not just for the race in August but to try to clear it up so that runners and hikers can make use of this beautiful trail again.
We will have to go back out there for sure prior to the race in August!
If you have time to join me, please sign up here.
We will start at 8am and depending on how many volunteers who sign up, we can split up in two or three groups.
You will need to have proper clothing ie. Long pants, long sleeve shirt, eye protection, gloves and a positive attitude wanting to help.
Bring enough water at least 2 liter and some snacks, it usually gets hot during the day and we will have to hike in for a good stretch .
You can bring your favorite tool for cutting back ferns brush and clearing trail sections.
I will provide sandwiches and refreshments after.
Thank you all for considering coming out to help,
Freddy
