Kealia Quad Crusher – Race Results, Photos (Coming Soon) & Mahalos

Aloha runners,

“Turn around… don’t drown” – the theme of today’s race

Steve and I would like to extend heartfelt thank you’s to all who helped make the 4th edition of Kealia Quad Crusher another smashing success!!

The weather was absolutely perfect today – not a cloud in the sky, cool tropical breezes floating through the air, the sun barely peeking out from the clouds. Oh wait, I’m thinking of LAST YEAR… this year runners had to contend with torrential downpours, low vision, lots of clouds, and cool temps. Not to mention the rivers floating down the trail. But hey we wouldn’t want it to be easy right? 😀

85 finishers completed this challenging course and for those of you who were virgins to the trail series or to our race… welcome to the family! And we hope to see you for the next SOLD OUT race in the series, Mango Madness on June 8th.

Congratulations to our champs – Ian Eisenhauer, (1:54:40); and Carly Forte, (2:26:39). These are smokin’ fast times considering the colossal 4,000 feet of climbing.

We want to thank John & PJ Salmonson, without whom the trail series would not exist. Heartfelt thanks (seriously, thank you) to our course marshals/water safety patrol and sweeping crew Arvel, Freddy, Chris, Donielle, Andy G. and his bagpipes, Marian, Jacki, Benita, Kathleen, and Jeff. Thanks to our start/finish line crew Mike, Jen, Kathleen, Matt, Evelyn, Lori, Sarah, Anna and anyone else who jumped in to help at any point. Thanks also to our race photographers Kalanai and Augusto. None of this can happen without you!

And last but not least, thank you to all of the runners who participated in this wonderful event. It’s your smiling faces and wonderful stories of the race that make this all worth while.

See you in 2020!

Rosie & Steve
