Saturday Training October 16, 2010: Kaahele (Run with a View)

Aloha Athletes,

Amazing! Something different. I've been told most runners are in taper mode for the Peacock 54 so wanting something a bit easier and change of venue this week.

So, running from the top of Kaahele Street. We will park up near the end of the road or cul-de-sac.

Let's start at 7:00 a.m. and for those who have not run up here before, the loop is about 7 miles.

Driving instructions for those unfamiliar: If you are coming from Honolulu, take H-1 freeway ewa direction to the Waimalu Exit. After taking the Waimalu Exit, immediately get into the left lane and prepare to stop at the traffic light. Take another left at the stop light, getting onto Moanalua Rd. (heading Diamondhead). Go to the 2nd traffic light, Kaahele St., and take a left (mauka). continue up Kaahele St. for quite a distance up the hill, until you reach the stop sign at Naalii Street. There is a neighborhood park on the left with bathrooms and this is where we start our race in May each year. However for today drive up to the end of the road and there is plenty of parking up at the top.

Get out there and run!

Aloha, Bob
