Saturday Training July 24, 2010: Maunawili and other weekend adventures
Aloha Athletes,
Lot's of opportunities to get out and train this weekend and enjoy Oahu trails.
First, some furlough Friday shenanigan's up Peacock way with Marian and Cheryl. Since Marian is basically in taper mode now, I am not sure what the distance will be but you can always do more or less. Remember lots of fluids for this. Starting at 7:00 a.m. (gosh, they're sleeping in. Maybe that is the taper part???) in the parking lot behind the control tower at Dillingham airfield.
Second, on Saturday, meet up at the Pali Lookout at 5:45 a.m. for a 6:00 a.m. start and run of Maunawili out and back. If you are only going one way, arrange your own carpool. This trail is in pretty good shape though there are a few places that could use some trimming. Anyone up for that? There is a little run with the pigs coming up on August 14!
Finally on Sunday, you can also run the Maunawili trail starting from the Waimanalo end at 5:30.
So no excuses, get out there and run!
Aloha, Bob
