Peacock Report

Aloha Athletes !

A dozen akamai runners were treated to a cool day, mixed with all kinds of weather at Peacock Flats, where outstanding performances by Ed Bugarin and Gordon Lau were the highlight of the day. The Peacock 50 is now the Peacock 54 (54.2 miles) and both Ed and Gordon finished in a remarkable 14 hours. I witnessed it and I still can’t believe it. These are two tough guys ! For most of us, 27 miles on this course was plenty. Thanks to Cheryl for providing great food and Grog and to Gordon for a super job of course marking and stashes…plus thanks to Jim Masterson for coming out and manning an aid station. Also, mahalo to Ernest, Fish, Bozo and Cheryl for staying to support Ed and Gordon. We WILL do this one again ! Don’t miss it ! Don
