Race Check-In Procedure
- PARKING: Runners are not allowed to park beyond the “Makiki Forest recreation Area” sign (see picture below). Plan ahead and arrive early. All participants must park on the shoulder with all tires COMPLETELY off of the roadway. Carpooling is highly encouraged. The vehicle operator is solely responsible for consequences that may occur due to illegal parking in the neighborhood. Please be respectful of the surrounding residential area.
- CHECK-IN: Check-in on race morning will be required at Hawaiʻi Nature Center between 6:15 and 6:50 am. If you miss the 6:50 am cut-off for registration, you must wait until after the race has started to register and begin your run. Your time will not be adjusted for the delayed start.
- BIBS: For tracking purposes, each participant will be given a bib with assigned numbers. Please display the number prominently on the front of your body for timing purposes.
- TOILETS: There are restrooms at the Start/Finish.
- Contact us if you have any questions.
During the Race
- ON-COURSE HYDRATION: All runners are required to carry a minimum 1L (32oz) of water from both the start and the turnaround aid station. It would be much hotter on the way back after turning around on sunny days. Plan accordingly. Runners are not allowed to start without carrying water.
- AID STATION: We will have one aid station at the turnaround and runners who fail to check in at the turnaround will be disqualified.
- TRAIL ETIQUETTE: The trail is open to the public. Please be courteous to other trail enthusiasts. Beware of vehicles on road crossings.
- Hiking poles are allowed on the course.
